After finals, my college friends and I went to Penang together for a vacation. We are so glad that we could finally make it this time because something bad came up a few months back when we wanted to go as well. This is the itinerary prepared by Adrian. I will be posting my journey since Day 1 together with the itinerary so you could see where we went! ( Sadly not everything went according to the plan, so there were changes here and there )
DAY 1
So let's start with Bayan Baru Market Food Court. We wanted to eat the famous fried oyster but the stall was closed.. same goes to most of the stalls. So we thought the place is quite empty in the morning and more happening during the night. We ate some 'Kuay Chap' and my super oily 'Koay Teow Th'ng'
Next, we headed over to the Camera Museum! Was really fascinated by the collection of cameras they have there and different type of rooms where we get to check out how the photo works, develops and etc! There was a cafe over there as well, called the 'Double Exposure'. The cups are all really cute! Its the plastic version of camera lens. You can buy the cups from the souvenir shop over there too. I gotten a camera necklace from the shop but sadly the quality turned out wasn't very good.
Since this was sort of a Food Trip, here the food hunting begins. HEHEHE. I really do love food, I'm not those skinny people that people always assume that doesn't eat).
Next was SeowFong Lye Cafe, we went there to try the famous Chee Cheong Fun!!!! We were too hungry so we ordered Char Kuey Teow. Hehehe it was alright to me. The Chee Cheong Fun sauce was actually the Rojak sauce, tasted really different.

We were suppposed to head over to Restoran Kapitan to try out their Nasi Kapitan and Ayam Kapitan but our dear driver, also the tour guide during our trip said it wasn't so good so we went to Jawi House instead. Jawi House turned out to be AMAZING. The food was so delicious, the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and comfortable as well. If you are planning to visit Penang again, you have to try this restaurant out!
We then head to Penang 3D interactive museum! Won't be uploading any photos so that you can go there and experience them by yourself! :) After that, we drove over to Clan Jetties for prawn fritters. But sadly.......... it was closed. Nevertheless, the place is pretty nice!
Now issssssss BEACH TIME!!!! I love beaches a lot! I love the breeze of the wind, the smell of the sea water, the beautiful sceneries, happy family having fun at the beach. Although Penang beach is definitely not one of the best beaches ever but going there with my friends excited me really much! We went to Hard Rock hotel Penang, located at Batu Ferringhi.
I met up with my good friend, Yoon WeiHo for dinner. He brought me to some nice places hahahaha. He brought me to Hon Kei Food Corner for dinner! They are famous for their porridge and noodles. On normal days, people would line up for quite some time just to eat there. I was pretty lucky as there were some empty seats when we arrived.
He then brought me to the LONGEST cafe/bar in Penang! It's called the CHINA HOUSE. I really really love it there! It's my second time visiting the china house and its much nicer at night. WeiHo ordered the famous delicous Tiramisu cake. There's an art gallery upstairs as well, really really love the concept of the shop. Great atmosphere to catch up with your friends and family members. Its a MUST GO place in Penang!
While I was busy catching up with WeiHo, my cutie friends were using the crayons provided by the China House and drew figures of me.......
The last stop before heading back to our guesthouse was Reggae Mansion. There was a live band performing and we sang along, so glad to be able to show them some support.
DAY 2
Day 2 was pretty unlucky for us all. Seetoh didn't really sleep because he had cramps the whole night and my eye was swollen the next morning, so we went to the clinic in the morning instead. The whole day was gloomy and rainy so we didn't get to go as many places as we planned to.
We head to Tuai Pui Curry Mee for breakfast and it was so good!

Next was The Chocolate Boutique. We thought it was a chocolate museum or something but it turned out to be a shop promoting their chocolates instead haha. Nothing interesting for me, tourist attraction only i guess.
Since it was raining we only get to do indoor activities so we went to Batik Painting Museum Penang. I have always been a person whom appreciates art a lot and visiting this museum just brought my appreciation towards Batik to a whole new level.
We had lunch at the famous Line Clear. Their Nasi Kandar is really gooood! A little too spicy for me but yea it tasted so good.
Next was Hin Bus Deport Art Centre. This centre displays a few pieces of Urban Art. A pretty cool place to check out.
Our last destination for the day was Penang HIll. I was really looking forward for it but it was too misty when we got up and we could hardly see anything..... Yes, that was how unlucky we were on the second day.
DAY 3
We visited Wat Chaymangkalaram temple and Burmese Buddhist Temple. Both of the temples themselves have really unique designs. You can see a huge difference between both of these temples even though they are from the same religion. This is truely amazing as I always find all religions interesting.
We then dropped by Penang Road famous Teochew Chendul since we didn't get to go there on the second day. Chendul was delicious as always! We ate the delicious and famous mee goreng at the Bangkok Lane as well.
Next we went to the Khoo Kongsi Temple. The Khoo family were once the richest and most powerful people in Penang. The history behind the Khoo family is indeed fascinating. This is a place you should definitely go if you're into histories that we never get to know from textbooks.
Our last destination before heading to the airport was Bayan Baru Market Food Court. I couldnt resist the temptation of eating 'Oh Jian' so we went back there trying our luck to eat it this time! Yes, luck was on our side and we enjoyed our last meal there.
